Upskilling Scotland's Civic Society
A half day course 9.30 - 1.00
Whether you are completely new to PowerPoint or simply want to get more skilled in its use, this course is for you. By the end of the day, you will be able to make your presentations more professional, more thoughtful and way more entertaining!
Using our own, specially devised Powerpoint booklet, we start with the basics, such as how to set up PowerPoint template slides to suit your different needs. And then, through the course of an entertaining day, we use a series of thirty quiz questions to look at gradually more advanced PowerPoint techniques, such as using transitions, or adding video. There will also be a chance to build your own presenation, as we progress through the course.
Coures content includes
The PowerPoint environment: the ribbon,
Laying out slides: including how to make your own customised templates
Manipulating your presenation: reviewing your progress and using the slide sorter
Bells and Whistles: using animations and graphics - the how, the do's and the don'ts
Time-saving tips: from reusing slides to making the most of design ideas
Death by PowerPoint! Some examples of horrible presentations, and how to avoid the pitfalls
Collaborating: building a slideshow with other people
Practising your presentation: tips and techniques on how to get your message over
The course is delivered using our purpose-built PowerPoint workbook, which is yours to keep.
All attendees also have free access to an online PowerPoint helpdesk for six months, where we will be happy to provide online refreshers, or help with any issue you have.
This PowerPoint training can be delivered as an in-house session.
We will be happy to provide an online or classroom session of this course for up to 12 of your staff, at a time that suits best for you.
