Microsoft Word for Beginners
This course is for those who are starting out in Word, or who would like to become more confident in the basics. Nothing is assumed or taken for granted in this course - and every single question from attendees is treated with due care and respect.
Attendees will gain the skills to open Word, save documents and enter and edit their text. We look at how to format, including changiing paper sizes, text colours, fonts and layout, before moving on to other Word features such as layout options, inserting pictures and graphs, creating and using tables, and review your own MS Word. No previous experience of Word is necessary, but attendees should have a basic familiarity with using a keyboard and mouse.

What is Word?
An overview of what Word can do for you:
Getting Started
Creating a document of your own, and saving it. Using autosave.
Getting started with a document. Adding and editing tex, and making changes as you go
Formatting your work We look at all the main formatting tools, from bolding to font, size, changing colour, italics etc
Page layout Using the built-in template designs, and ways to make your oown design.
The basic Word tools From cut and paste, setting text boundaries, aligning, inserting text boxes, inserting pictures or graphs
Reviewing your work Using the Word revewing tools, such as word count, spell check, thesaurus and readability suggestions.
The course is delivered using our purpose-built Word workbook, which is yours to keep.
All attendees also have free access to an online Word helpdesk for six months, where we will be happy to provide online refreshers, or help with any issue you have.
This Word training can be delivered as an in-house session.
We will be happy to arrange an online or classroom session of this course for up to 12 of your staff, at a time that suits best for you.
