This short training session looks at the practical steps that can help prevent the spread of infections, including Covid, and keep staff and customers safe.

Using a stepped approach, we look first at the basics of keeping your environment safe, including:

• The routes of infection

• The six stages of cleaning

• Sterilisation procedures for equipment and the general environment

• Personal protective equipment for various situations

• Safe handling of potential infected materials

• The correct disposal of waste

We then look at the measures you may wish to have in place to halt the spread of the Covid virus, including:

• Sanitising stations (most effective types, positioning, rosters etc)

• Breaking the chain of infection, from social distancing measures to track and trace

And finally, we look at how to handle suspected or actual Covid cases

• What to do if you suspect someone is Covid-positive

• Measures to take if this positive diagnosis is confirmed

This training can be delivered as an in-house session.
