One session of 3.5 hours, with breaks, delivered online via Zoom
Data Protection and GDPR in the age of Covid-19
Today, we all give out more information than would have been thought credible six months ago. The simple act of going for a meal can involve handing over personal information like your phone number or your email address.
If your organisation is gathering such data, you may wish to attend this short course that will act as a quick refresher on the General Data Protection Act (GDPR) legislation and then discuss tips, tricks, best practise, and definite no-no’s of data gathering during Covid-19.
Keeping jargon to a minimum, we will look at the key articles of GDPR and discuss what you need to do to be generally compliant. We cover:
The purpose and application of the GDPR
Types of personal data
GDPR principles
Processing personal data
Who can you pass gathered information to?
Our eight rights
Keeping data secure
We then take a look at the situation through Covid.
Is your process transparent?
What data can you reasonably gather?
What data storage methods are GDPR-compliant?
What data-gathering methods work best (ie, not shouting out your email in a busy pub!)
Can someone legally opt out or refuse to give data? If so, do you have alternatives?
The course is being delivered online, using the video conferencing service ZOOM. See more about Zoom, and how we will use it, on our Courses page.
This course is available for your own organisation. It can be delivered online via Zoom or Microsoft Teams. We can also deliver classroom style, if your premises meet the current Covid guidelines on hygeine and spacing.
