Upskilling Scotland's Civic Society
A half-day coures 13.00 - 16.30pm
This course will be delivered online, via Zoom
The UK government defines bullying and harassment as behaviour that makes someone feel intimidated or offended. This can include everything from spreading malicious rumours to unfair treatment, picking on or regularly undermining someone, or denying someone’s training or promotion opportunities
This half day course, delivered online via Zoom, is intended for anyone who has a stake in what is still unfortunately quite common behaviour. It is suitable as a starting point on the issue for anyone - you may feel that you yourself should get clued up on the issue, or you may be a workplace representative, a trades union rep, a manager or even a concerned colleague. We look at:
What is bullying and harassment? What actions constitute bullying and harassment? For instance, is strong management a type of bullying?
The impact of bullying and harassment
The law regarding bullying and harassment, including the 2010 Equalities Act
Handling allegations of bullying and harassment
Dealing with bullying and harassment scenarios
Course Tutor: Brian McNee, Director of Training at Civicos Training and Communications and delivers courses in personal safety, personal development, human psychology, management and business skills.
